Martin Luther King Tour

We will stop for a scheduled tour of the Frederick Douglass House that can include a 25 minute Park Ranger Tour; a 17 minute video and a walk thru the house and the grounds.We will drive the U Street corridor in Washington, DC. U Street was known as the Black Broadway. U Street was home to the Lincoln Republic Theater and the Booker T. Washington Theater. Black poets, writers, musicians, actors and singers from all over routinely descended upon U Street. U Street was almost destroyed during the riots of 1968; it took many years for it to return to its original luster.
We will drive by the White House and Capital for pictures. And share with you information about the black freemen and slaves who built these buildings.
We will will stop at the  Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial to view Dr. King's 28 foot tall statue and quotes.
We will stop at the Lincoln Memorial and you can stand where Dr. King gave his "I Have a Dream" speech.
We will stop by the African American Civil War Memorial. This memorial is dedicated to the 270,000 United States Colored Troops and Sailors that fought in the Civil War. You can hear a lecture on the contributions African American soldiers made during the civil war.
